Team Leaders

HeadCount is adding Team Leaders all across the country. Team Leaders are the heart and soul of HeadCount, and are the people most responsible for registering thousands of voters at concerts. They represent the organization any time a HeadCount-affiliated artist appears in the team’s metropolitan area. This means organizing and scheduling teams of volunteers (using HeadCount’s Intranet database), training new volunteers, and managing the entire process of setting up a voter registration table at an event. It also involves directly interfacing with staff at local concert venues and tour production crews from our affiliated bands. Team Leaders must be reliable, professional, and good communicators. Most of all, they need to inspire volunteers to work together toward a common goal. If you love music and consider yourself a natural leader, this may be the position for you.

This is considered a volunteer position, but Team Leaders are eligible for a yearly performance-based stipend of up to $1,000.

Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic, maturity and sense of accountability
  • Flexible schedule allowing them to be on site at concerts before doors open
  • Natural leadership ability
  • Commitment to following protocol
  • Relevant leadership experience

To apply, please register as a volunteer by clicking HERE and follow instructions upon receiving an email response. In addition, email a brief cover letter and resume under the subject line "Team Leader" to resumes@headcount.org.

Field Volunteers

Field volunteers are the driving force behind HeadCount. Since our launch in 2004, music fans from all walks of life have signed on to help register other fans to vote and encourage participation in democracy. Our organizational mission is fulfilled through the interaction between our volunteers and thousands of other people. As the true frontline warriors in the fight for democracy, volunteers must be enthusiastic, good communicators and most of all reliable. They also must be willing to miss part (or, in some cases, all) of a concert and make HeadCount’s activities their priority the night of an event. Volunteers are asked to be at the concert venue before doors open to the public, help set up the table, and then proactively engage music fans. At the end of the night, volunteers help break down the HeadCount table and organize completed forms.

Volunteer position

Requirements:

  • Maturity, strong work ethic and responsibility
  • Enthusiasm
  • Willingness to proactively register voters, which includes approaching people directly and asking them to register to vote
  • Willingness to learn voter registration rules and participate in HeadCount training
  • Ability to arrive at venue before doors open to the public on nights you are volunteering

To apply, please register as a volunteer by clicking HERE and follow instructions upon receiving email response.
