Acceptable ID Types for Nevada

Nevada voters do NOT need to show ID to vote at the polls, except some first-time voters who did not complete voter registration form. Valid forms of identification include;

  • Current photo ID (can be out of state)
  • Copy of utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government document/check with voter's name and address
  • Student photo ID is accepted

If this is your first time voting and you registered to vote by mail, you will need to provide identification. We recommend a photo ID with your current address or an official piece of mail with your current address.

What happens when you go to vote without an ID

You can vote using a provisional ballot.
