Until a few days ago I'd never heard of the San Diego-based screamo band A City Serene. Sadly, it took a tragic car accident during the young (the oldest member is twenty) sextet's first tour to get them more attention.
Traveling in a converted church bus, the band was struck head-on when a pickup truck lost control and jumped a median, landing in their lane. All members were badly injured and had to be airlifted to different hospitals. Two are still in a coma while others are improving. I find this heartbreaking and hope the best for these kids and their families. The band's manager says hospital bills are already rolling in. A fund has been established to help cover legal and medical costs and donations can be made here.
