Shannon McGee

After 12 years spent in a traditional classroom teaching world history and economics, Shannon left the teaching profession to pursue other interests. Since 2011, Shannon has been involved with various festivals and nonprofits around the county filling roles such as volunteer coordinator, case manager and kitten foster. She first discovered HeadCount at Wanee Festival and knew immediately that this was an organization she wanted to be a part of in some way. Shannon has always had a passion for encouraging a sense of civic duty and participation in local, state and federal politics. HeadCount merges that philosophy in a nonpartisan way with live music.

Shannon enjoys traveling, hiking, running, and music festivals. A few of her favorite bands are moe., Counting Crows, Milk Carton Kids, Citizen Cope, Tedeschi Trucks Band and any ensemble that includes Warren Haynes.
