Les Skolnik loves being a HeadCount TL! Les is currently the Social Studies Learning Specialist at a high school in Brooklyn, NY. As a social studies teacher, Les facilitates classroom experiences that allow his students to see their own stories reflected in history. Les has been an educator, youth worker, and youth development specialist for over fifteen years, having served in organizations and schools in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Long Island, and Buffalo, NY.
Les holds a B.A. in History from SUNY Buffalo and a Master’s degree in Inclusive Secondary Social Studies Education from Hofstra University and is a New York State certified teacher in secondary Social Studies and Special Education. In his spare time, Les sees as much live music as possible (usually Phish), loves to travel, and can often be found exploring New York City with his camera while trying to improve his skills as a photographer.
