‘Vote Classy, San Diego: A Conversation with Ron Burgundy and Billy Eichner’

Funny Or Die and Billy Eichner’s “Glam Up The Midterms” first event will be “Vote Classy, San Diego: A Conversation with Ron Burgundy and Billy Eichner,” announced today by Billy Eichner. On Thursday, April 12, Billy Eichner and Ron Burgundy are headed to Oceanside, CA for a live, once-in-a-lifetime conversation about the upcoming primary in CA-49. Announced this past February with this video, ‘Glam Up The Midterms’ is a non-partisan campaign to encourage and energize young people to vote during the November 2018 midterm elections.

"I could not be more excited for our first official Glam Up the Midterms live event in CA-49 next week, especially since I'll be joined by a real San Diego legend in the one and only Ron Burgundy,” said Eichner. “Best of all, we'll be registering a lot of people to vote in advance of the upcoming primary in CA-49 and the midterms in November! Although I am a proud member of the Television Academy, it'll be a nice change of pace to talk about voting for something other than Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series,” he added.

True to Billy Eichner’s mission of energizing the world about the November 6 midterm elections, and Ron Burgundy’s passion for San Diego and himself, the evening promises to enlighten attendees about all things “midterms” with an emphasis on local leaders, issues, and the upcoming congressional primary on June 5th. California has a top-2 primary, meaning the top 2 vote-getters regardless of party affiliation will advance to the November general election. Glam Up The Midterms believes that young voters will play a crucial role in selecting the top-2 in CA-49. To be eligible to attend the event, all attendees must register to vote or sign up for election alerts using this link: https://www.HeadCount.org/GlamUp2018.

The event's voter registration and election information is powered by HeadCount.org, a non-partisan, nonprofit organization that has registered nearly 500,000 voters since 2004 at concerts, music festivals and other live events. Last month HeadCount registered over 5,000 voters in the span of a few hours at March For Our Lives events across America.

From the same company that reached more young voters and raised more awareness than anyone else for Obamacare with Between Two Ferns, Funny Or Die and Billy Eichner’s "Glam Up the Midterms" will work to convince voters under the age of 40 that Democracy is worth fighting for and that they should vote in November.
