In the ten years we've been doing the HeadCount thang, one of the absolute highlights was teaming up with Qello Concerts to put on Participation Row at Lockn' last year.
Participation Row is a non-profit village we concocted based on all our experience at other festivals. It's an interactive concept where fans have an incentive to take actions at non-profit tents, and can also hang out in the Qello Concerts Lounge.
As Lockn' founder Pete Shapiro says in the video below, it's all about "making the involvement in non-profits fun, and making it something you're going to want to go do."
Last year, 5,600 actions were taken; 1,500 pounds of food were collected, and nearly $50,000 was raised for all the charities involved.
Well, it's back. And will be bigger and better than last year. Pretty much every non-profit from 2013 is returning and we'll have a few more surprises in store.
