Absentee and Confidential Maximum Bids Accepted for Silent Auction

The information in this blog was amended following the July 4th Grateful Dead concert. All times listed below subject to change.

Due to overwhelming interest in the Participation Row Silent auction – especially the signed D’Angelico Fare Thee Well guitar played by Bob Weir on stage – HeadCount has amended the auction procedure to allow anyone, include those streaming from home, to place bids.

If you would like to bid remotely (absentee), please email [email protected] to request the necessary documents.

As of the end of the Fare Thee Well concert on Friday, July 4th,  the high bid for the guitar was $81,000. The high bids for other items are listed below. Photos of most items can also be found below.

Proceeds will be split among the 17 Grateful Dead-affiliated charities represented on Participation Row. A full list can be found here.

To place a remote absentee bid, you will need to complete a “CONFIDENTIAL ABSENTEE MAXIMUM BID AUTHORIZATION" form and submit it by email no later than 1 PM central time on Sunday July 5th). To request the form, please send us an email at [email protected]. NO BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED VIA PHONE, TEXT, OR EMAIL.

You will be asked to provide a maximum bid and what increments you would like your bids to be in, as well as what you would like your current bid to be listed at. This authorizes HeadCount to bid on your behalf, up to your maximum bid. The auction closes at 9:15 PM during set break on Sunday July 5th  (Subject to change without notice). Your maximum bid will never be revealed to anyone unless it is surpassed.

Please note that anyone bidding a bid remotely is required to provide  by credit card equal to 10% of your maximum bid (up to $10,000), which will be refunded in full should someone else win the item. If the charge is declined you will not be eligible to bid, so please alert your credit card company that a charge is forthcoming.
