Primary Election Dates
All primary elections in Utah are semi-closed. Each political party may decide whether voters who are not affiliated with their party can vote in the primary election or not.
In 2026, the Republican party will be holding closed primaries, meaning only registered Republicans may participate. The Democratic party will be holding open primaries, meaning any voter, regardless of party affiliation, may participate.
