The voter registration deadline for West Virginia is Oct. 13th. If you would prefer to vote by mail, you may do so by excuse only and your request must be received by Oct. 28th. We recommend you apply early. The application period opens Aug.11th.
If you are registered with the Republican or Democratic party, you are only allowed to vote in their primaries. If you are unaffiliated with a political party, you may select either party's ballot at the polls and remain unaffiliated.

Some congressional seats, state offices and constitutional amendments may be included on the ballot.
Early Voting Dates: Oct. 21st-Oct. 31st
You can vote in-person at your county clerk’s office from Oct. 21st to Oct. 31st before the election. No excuse required.
To vote absentee by-mail, first you’ll need to apply for an absentee ballot (click here). Your application must be received by Oct. 28th. Then, when you complete your absentee ballot, it must be postmarked by the day before the election. At this time an excuse is required to vote absentee by-mail for the general election.
The absentee ballot application period opens 84 days before the election. You must submit an application for an absentee ballot by-mail for each election. Whether it’s in person or by mail, you’ll need to give an excuse to vote by absentee ballot. Info here on what qualifies.
