The voter registration deadline for Maryland is Oct. 13th. If you would like to receive your ballot by mail or fax, your application must be received by Oct. 27th. If you have an MD state ID or driver’s license and would like to download your ballot from the state site, your request must be received by Oct. 30th. We recommend getting your application in as soon as possible.
Missed the registration deadline? No problem, you may register to vote in person with valid ID at early voting locations and on Election Day.
Only registered voters affiliated with a particular party may vote in its primary. Annually parties may choose to open their primaries to all registered voters up to 6 months before Election Day. In 2020 primaries remain closed. See Maryland Republican Party or Democratic Party sites for more details.
Some congressional seats, state offices and constitutional amendments may be included on the ballot.
Early Voting Dates: Oct. 22nd to Oct. 29th

The absentee ballot by-mail application period opens Jan. 1st. You may request to receive ballots for statewide primary and general elections during the calendar year, no excuse required.
