Procedure:
In 2020 the Alaska Democratic Party will host a party-run primary on April 4. The emphasis on this primary will be absentee and electronic voting. In order to participate in the absentee and electronic systems your voter registration must be current as of February 19, 2020. Election day hours will be very limited (10 to 2) and will only be in a few places across the state. You will be able to register on election day. What forms of ID are acceptable?
- Signed voter ID card
- Driver’s license
- State ID card
- Military ID card
- US Passport
- AK hunting or fishing license
- Other current or valid photo identification (including student ID*)
- If name and address are included:
- Current utility bill or paycheck
- Government check or bank statement, or other government-issued document

Request an Absentee BallotEarly Voting Dates: March 3 to March 31
You can vote in person at your Regional Election's Office or electronically from March 3rd to March 31st before the election. No excuse required.
To vote absentee by mail or electronic transmission, first you’ll need to apply for an absentee ballot (click here). Then, when you complete your absentee ballot, it must be postmarked by March 24th or transmitted by March 31st.
