Acceptable ID Types for Vermont

Voters in Vermont do NOT need to show ID at the polls to vote, except for some first time voters who did not include required ID information on their voter registration form. Valid forms of identification include;

  • Photo ID
  • A copy of a current utility bill, paycheck, bank statement, or any government document/check that displays name and address
  • A copy of a current bank statement
  • A copy of any government document that shows the current name and address of the voter
  • Student ID

What happens when you go to vote without an ID

You do not need an ID to vote in Vermont. You will be able to vote a regular ballot.
