The Used, an Orem-Utah-based rock band that has been described as everything from "emo-metal" to "screamo-tinged post-hardcore," can add another descriptor to their bio: advocates for LGBT youth. The band is headlining a 33-city tour that will raise awareness and funds for the It Gets Better Project, a group that encourages LGBT teens in the face of bullying and harassment. Throughout the whole Take Action Tour, which will also feature We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire, and Mindflow, 10% of all ticket purchases will go to the charity.
The It Gets Better Project was created in response to an alarming increase in in the number of bullied young people in the LGBT community taking their own lives. They are probably best known for the "It Gets Better" videos. Over 50,000 individuals nationwide filmed a message to struggling LGBT teens including loads of celebrities.

The Used are powerful voices for young people, well known for their community involvement and outreach, and for encouraging young people to embrace their individuality."
