#LettuceParticipate: HeadCount Organizing Activism Village On Lettuce Tour ft. ACLU & WhyHunger

Lettuce, renowned for bringing new vitality to classic funk, is now breaking new ground on the social action front by taking three national non-profit organizations on the road for their Winter tour and we're excited to be a part of organizing it all.

The American Civil Liberties Union, WhyHunger and HeadCount will have tables and volunteers at each concert, presenting action opportunities for fans to support each organization. Fans who complete three actions will be entered to win a poster signed by the band each night.

Usually only festivals or major amphitheater concerts have a row of non-profit organizations. But Lettuce is now bringing an interactive, pro-social experience to one of the premier clubs and theaters across the country,

"The issues associated with these three organizations are issues that we care deeply about," said Adam Deitch, Lettuce's drummer. "We're excited for our fans to not only have a good time at our shows, but also leave feeling that they are making an impact in the world."

"I believe in unity and equality." added bass player Jesus Coombs. "We humans are so much more powerful than we are trained to believe. We can do mighty and magnificent things when we are connected through love and respect."

The tour kicks off in Atlanta on February 7th, and includes stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and Cleveland. The Motet will provide support in six cities, with special appearances by Galactic on the final four stops of the tour. All dates are listed below, or can be found at LettuceFunk.com.

“This is a great opportunity for us to get out the vote in the most meaningful way,” said Andy Bernstein, our executive director. “By working with the ACLU and WhyHunger, we’re reminding people what’s at stake in each election and bringing issues to the forefront that are important to the band and their fans.”

The ACLU’s activation will focus on racial justice and ending mass incarceration. WhyHunger’s will be educating fans about food insecurity. Fans can volunteer with any of the organizations by visiting HeadCount.org/volunteer and signing up for the Lettuce concert in their hometown.

Funding for the traveling installation is provided via a portion of each ticket sold on the tour donated to HeadCount. level, a philanthropic consulting, based in Denver Colorado, is assisting with the project.
