Voting Information for Delaware

Don’t miss your next election! Delaware will hold its closed presidential primary on April 28th. Existing in-state voters must declare their party affiliation by February 28th. New voters may register for the first time in-state through the April 4th deadline.

Presidential Primaries

Only registered voters affiliated with a particular party may vote in its primary. Existing in-state voters must declare their party affiliation by February 28th. New voters may register through April 4th.

Some congressional seats, state offices and constitutional amendments may be included on the ballot.

Early Voting + Absentee Voting

Early Voting Dates: County-Specific

To vote absentee, first you’ll need to apply for an absentee ballot (click here) no later than April 27th. Then you can complete your absentee ballot and return by mail.  Your ballot must be returned by 8 pm on April 28th.

Alternatively, you can vote in-person at your county’s Department of Elections using an absentee ballot. Hours will vary by county, click here for specific dates and times.
