Sarah Palin Faux Interviews LL Cool J And Toby Keith

You may have heard that Sarah Palin launched a new special program on the FOX News Channel (FNC) called “Real American Stories”. The documentary-style show is not meant to be political in nature, but the first few video promos became a bit controversial.

In advance of the April 1 series premier, FNC aired promos saying the show would "feature real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape." The ads featured interviews with LL Cool J and Toby Keith among others.

LL Cool J responded first, via Twitter: “Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palin's Show. WOW,” the celebrity tweeted. Shortly after, Keith also said the same was true in his situation. Neither celebrity sat down with Palin.

FCN removed the LL Cool J segment from the show and issued a cheeky rebuke to the rapper. Keith allowed his interview to air in “Real American Stories,” but when The New York Times blog asked the country star how he felt about being associated with Palin, Keith’s publicist said, “I’m not going to comment on what Toby feels about it.”

In the 2008 election, Keith was a vocal advocate for Palin’s opponent, Team Obama.
