‘Reality Check’ Game Show Rolls at Rothbury and All Good

By Andy Bernstein

Nearly 1,500 people have now played Reality Check, the music and political trivia game show HeadCount has rolled out to festivals this summer. Only three people can claim to be champions: Paul Arseneau of Tolono, IL, walked away with a Les Paul guitar signed by Bob Weir at Rothbury as the winner of the second Reality Check installment.

Shaun Mauzy won a pair of tickets to the 2010 All Good Festival for his championship run there last weekend. (Bonnaroo was the site of the first Reality Check competition.)

Members of Umphrey's McGee joined us on the Grassroots Stage at All Good to help decide the Reality Check finals as co-contestants. Andy Faraq ended up on the winning team while Ryan Stasik stood alongside runner-up Owen Murphy, who received a HeadCount hoodie from PlayBack for his second-place heroics.

The All Good Festival was quite good indeed for HeadCount. We had the pleasure of presenting Al Schnier, Stanton Moore and Reid Genauer on the Grassroots Stage.

Nearly 900 people stopped by our booth and filled out our What's Your Issue? survey. The All Good is a true grassroots festival. With two side-by-side stages, it's truly about the music and attracts an audience that heartily embraces the festival lifestyle. This was the fifth time HeadCount set up shop at All Good, and we always feel at home. Our sincere appreciation to Tim, Junipa and everyone who makes things happen in West Virginia.

Congrats as well to our All Good semi-finalists: Justin Hillman of Baltimore, MD, and Phillip Moodie of Sewanee, TN. And more congrats to Greg Keyser of Springfield, VA, who took second place at Rothbury, as well as semi-finalists Jeff Gecas of Grand Marais, MN, and Steve Rodseth of Grand Rapids, MI (who looks a lot like a Hansen Brother from Slap Shot).

Reality Check's next stop is Camp Bisco, where we'll give away the best prize yet: a free and fully transferable ticket to Caribbean Holidaze.
