As some of you may know, Earth Day is coming up soon. In celebration every year for the past three years, the Green Apple Festival has held a free concert in cities around the country. This year, they are revamping the system a bit, in the hopes of encouraging as much enthusiasm to volunteer as to hear live music. At the end of a weekend of environmentally friendly projects, there will be a free concert for all the volunteers to celebrate their participation in their "address of current challenges [to] help cities and organizations get important work done." You can join in the celebration in New York, Boston, Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Austin, LA, San Fransisco or Seattle in projects ranging from tree planting to urban gardens, water protection to forest restoration. Volunteer opportunities are available from Friday, April 17 to Sunday, April 19. The concerts are only for volunteers on Sunday night.
