With about six weeks left on its extensive 2009 summer tour in support of Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, (it officially began May 27 and wraps up at Austin City Limits music festival on October 3) the Dave Matthews Band's violinist Boyd Tinsley found time to meet President Obama at a rally in Virginia last week.
Fan-friendly owner of the NHL's Washington Capitals, one of the early partners in America Online and self-proclaimed DMB fan, Ted Leonsis, was also present at the event and blogged about his interaction with Tinsley and the president.
Leonsis discovered some common ground with Tinsley, as they are both interested in sports as well as filmmaking. Leonsis founded Snag Films which distributes documentaries around the Internet, including the HeadCount documentary which you can watch here.
And Caps fans, keep an eye out for Boyd to play the national anthem at a game in the future.
