I’m hitting the road with HeadCount this fall! In a few short days, a HeadCount team I’m leading will join The War on Drugs at each U.S. stop of their tour, encouraging democratic participation every step of the way. On top of registering voters, HeadCount will be signing fans up for TurboVote local election alerts – ensuring that every voter will be reminded to vote on Election Day, even when that Election Day doesn’t fall on a Tuesday in November.
In the lead up to the tour, The War on Drugs has been gifting pairs of tickets to fans who mention on a TWOD Facebook post which issues are affecting their communities. It’s probably the coolest ticket giveaway I’ve ever seen.
When visiting the HeadCount booth at The War on Drugs show, fans will also have the opportunity to interact with other non-profits that will be set up with positive actions of many different kinds. Fans will be invited to check out each organization, which then enters them into a free drawing for a poster signed by the The War on Drugs.
Also as of now we have some volunteer openings on tour, with specific need for volunteers in Charlotte and Houston.
So stop by the booth, take some actions with HeadCount and other orgs, and if you run into me and bring up Penguins hockey your chances of winning that signed poster double (not really, but it would be cool if I could do that).
