Sting, Weir, Roots To Play Climate Rally In DC


Sting, John Legend, the Roots, Jimmy Cliff, Passion Pit, Bob Weir, Willie Colón, Joss Stone, Robert Randolph, Patrick Stump, Mavis Staples, and Booker T will help celebrate Earth Day's 40th birthday this Sunday during a possibly massive Climate Rally on the National Mall.

Scheduled speakers at the 11 a.m. event include the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Avatar director James Cameron, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, Olympic gold medalist Billy Demong, producer Trudie Styler, science-fiction author Margaret Atwood, NFL player Dhani Jones, and environmental photographer Sebastian Copeland. Climate change, sustainability, food and farm policy, the economy, and other areas of interest to HeadCount activists are sure to be addressed.

The Earth Day Network is sponsoring free buses from New York City, Philadephia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, Charleston WV, Richmond, Charlottesville, and Baltimore. Find out more here.
