Melanie Marcou joined the HeadCount Team in 2014, but has been a big fan since the beginning. Born and raised just outside of Boston, she spent a lot of time doing volunteer work, ranging from holding food drives at concerts, to helping out at local schools and after-school programs. She went on to earn her B.S. in Consumer Studies with a concentration in Community Service and Non-Profit and Grassroots Organizing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After spending 10 years working at The UMass Stonewall Center, one of the country’s first LGBT resource centers, she moved on to a fast-paced and rapidly growing transportation company in Eastern Massachusetts. When she is not at work or working on HeadCount, you are guaranteed to find her following Umphrey’s McGee around the country (and beyond).
