Ian Weissman

Ian Weissman first learned about HeadCount after Googling “Music + Politics” during a long night of procrastinating.  He soon volunteered for his first show (Van Morrisson) during the summer of 2015.  After registering tons of friendly voters and getting to watch one of his lifelong musical idols from the side of the stage, Ian knew he had found the perfect way to combine his love of music with his passion for creating politically active citizens.  He officially joined HeadCount as a Team Leader in March 2016.

Ian is a high school social studies teacher in New York City and has a strong passion for education.  He holds a B.S. in History from Penn State University and a M.A. in Social Studies Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.  He plays the guitar, banjo, ukulele, and mandolin.  He also owns a didgeridoo, but isn’t quite sure how it works.
