Han Duong is Senior Communications major at St. John’s University and Music & Politics Intern at HeadCount. The political climate of the United States in the last few years has given Han a new perspective on the importance of politics in modern society, which is why Headcount’s mission guides her ideals for the future. She loves the idea of merging popular culture with democracy, spreading the idea of political participation to inspire people to make a difference in their communities.
Han’s other major interests include food, travel, art, museums, and most of all, music. Her favorite bands and artists range from Drake, Lady Gaga, Solange, SZA, and Frank Ocean to lesser known indie groups like The Radio Dept., Slowdive, Beach Fossils, DIIV, and many more. She loves music in all forms, whether it be live concerts, musicals, or the casual playlist on Spotify. She also has a 15 year-old Persian cat named Jerry whom she loves dearly.
