Brenda is a medical librarian who is addicted to attending concerts and music festivals. She fuels her addiction for live music by annually attending New Orleans Jazz & Heritage, ACL, Free Press Summer Fest and Voodoo Music Festivals plus numerous one-day events. In addition to catching shows in the Houston area, she enjoys traveling for concerts and music festivals. She first learned about HeadCount at ACL and was attracted to HeadCount because it combined her love of music and volunteerism with the importance of being involved in our democracy. She began volunteering with HeadCount in 2011 and loves it, because it’s volunteering for a cause she believes in with the added benefit of live music from a variety of artists. In addition to HeadCount, Brenda volunteers with the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts and NOAA’s Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary. Brenda’s an avid scuba diver and enjoys diving as often as she can.
