Ben Lerude grew up in Reno, Nevada, and has been living in New York City for nearly 5 years. He started volunteering with HeadCount in 2018 after connecting at a Leon Bridges concert at Radio City Music Hall. Since then, his engagement with voting rights has only increased, and he is now pursuing a J.D. with a focus on election law.
Before law school, Ben studied computer science and music at Yale University and worked in the music industry. He spends his free time training for marathons and baking new pie recipes, which are importantly both hobbies that he can do while blasting music. At any given moment, he’s probably jamming to one of his favorite artists, which include Indigo de Souza, Wolf Alice, Charli XCX, and Brandi Carlile.
