Alyssa Carey stumbled upon HeadCount in early 2016 and has been riding the train ever since. It wasn't until after she began volunteering that she realized HeadCount was the organization she first registered to vote with back in 2008 at Dave Matthews Band concert in Saratoga, NY. She was born and raised in Syracuse, New York and her favorite bands are Pretty Lights and The Disco Biscuits. Alyssa received her B.A in Studio Art & Creative Art Therapy from SUNY Potsdam in Potsdam, New York and her M.S Clinical Mental Health Counseling From The College Of Saint Rose in Albany, New York. She is currently working in private practice as a mental health counselor towards her state licensure.
Alyssa lives for & loves the live music experience. She believes the connections made through music are some of the truest and most coveted. She loves to interact and converse with people from all walks of life brought together by the love of music. HeadCount allows Alyssa to channel her firecracker personality into something for a cause. Spreading easily accessible knowledge to a deserving population fuels Alyssa's drive within the HeadCount community.
