This is a huge year for HeadCount and here's a fun way to make it even bigger and better...
This week we're holding an online auction for a rare D'Angelico "Lightning Bolt" guitar signed by Bob Weir, John Mayer and every member of Dead & Co. This is the only one of its kind being auctioned or sold. Fewer than 20 of these guitars were produced and only two were signed by all of Dead & Co. (We gave the other away in a free drawing).
This auction not only supports HeadCount and our voter registration efforts, but also the environmental group REVERB, and over a dozen other charities with ties to the Grateful Dead community.
If the rare Lightning Bolt isn't enough, we've got an axe from FloydFest, signed by Warren Haynes, Bruce Horsnby, Nathaniel Rateliff, Anders Osborne, Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon), Nahko Bear, Shakey Graves and Keller Williams.
This week we're also heading to the LOCKN' festival to run the 4th annual Participation Row social action village, where 17 non-profit organizations will stage non-partisan activities meant to engage and inform voters about the upcoming election.
We'll be auctioning one of the LEGENDARY LOCKN' guitars, expected to be signed by members of Phish, My Morning Jacket, Ween, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Phil Lesh & Friends and more. You'll have to be on LOCKN' to bid on that one.
It's been a long strange trip since we started doing these guitar auctions four years ago. They've helped us grow HeadCount into the leading nationwide organization doing voter registration campaigns, and a growing force in organizing non-profit villages at music festivals.
