ABOUT US:

HeadCount is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that harnesses the power of music, culture, and digital media to register voters and inspire participation in democracy. Since 2004, we’ve registered over one million voters through our work with musicians like Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, Lizzo, Dead & Co, Billie Eilish and Alicia Keys; organizations such as Global Citizen; events including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, pride festivals and RuPaul’s DragCon; plus partnerships with brands like Spotify, Major League Baseball and American Eagle. Our award winning online campaigns have been seen over a billion times, while our 50,000 volunteers can be seen at more than 1,500 live events each year. We reach young people where they already are – at concerts and online – to inform and empower.

Volunteer Positions

Regional Coordinators play a critical role within the leadership structure of HeadCount. Regional Coordinators manage, organize, motivate and train a team of 5 to 20 Team Leaders and ensure that their team has what they need to be successful. This is primarily a remote position, but we encourage Regional Coordinators to join us at festivals and occasionally travel to other cities to train new Team Leaders.

Regional Coordinators advocate for their Team Leaders and serve as one of their primary support contacts, while ensuring they are as active as they can be and follow HeadCount procedures. All Regional Coordinators must embody the following qualities: communicative, supportive, and proactive. They are expected to be leaders in fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion.

You can expect to dedicate at least five hours a week to the RC role while HeadCount has an active field campaign. This is considered a volunteer position, but Regional Coordinators are eligible for a yearly performance-based stipend of up to $2,500.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong work ethic, maturity and sense of accountability
  • About 5 to 8 hours per week of availability for digital and phone communication
  • Community builder
  • Passion for democracy, voter engagement and volunteers
  • Relevant leadership experience

To apply, please register as a volunteer by clicking HERE and be sure to check off that you are interested in a leadership position. In addition, email a brief cover letter and resume under the subject line “Regional Coordinator” to [email protected].

We're accepting applications for Team Leaders in select cities.

HeadCount is adding Team Leaders all across the country. Team Leaders are the heart and soul of HeadCount and are the people most responsible for registering thousands of voters at concerts, festivals, and community events. They represent the organization any time a HeadCount-affiliated artist appears in the team’s metropolitan area. Within their metro, Team Leaders also work with venues, promoters, and community event organizers to identify the best local opportunities to register voters.

This means organizing and scheduling teams of volunteers (using HeadCount’s volunteer portal), training new volunteers and managing the process of setting up a voter registration table at an event. It also involves directly interfacing with staff at local concert venues and tour production crews from our affiliated bands.
Team Leaders also reach into their community to identify gaps in voter registration access and provide registration services. This could be at high schools, street fairs, or other relevant community events. The goal is for at least 25% of annual activations to come from community events.
Team Leaders must be reliable, professional, and good communicators. Most of all, they need to inspire volunteers to work together toward a common goal. If you love music and consider yourself a natural leader, this may be the position for you.
This is considered a volunteer position, but Team Leaders are eligible for a yearly performance-based stipend of up to $1,500.

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic, maturity and sense of accountability
  • Flexible schedule allowing you to be on site at concerts before doors open
  • Natural leadership ability
  • Commitment to following protocol
  • Relevant leadership experience

To apply, please register as a volunteer by clicking HERE and be sure to check off that you are interested in a leadership position. In addition, email a brief cover letter and resume under the subject line "Team Leader" to [email protected].
