The U.S.-Cuba Cultural Exchange has announced that Cuban musicians will be allowed to perform in the United States and Puerto Rico for the first time since 2003! The State Department has supplied visas to singer-songwriter Pablo Milanés and composer-conductor Zenaida Romeu. Milanés will perform in Puerto Rico next month and possibly later in the United States. Romeu, meanwhile, will bring her Camarata Romeu women's ensemble to Fargo, North Dakota, where she will guest-conduct the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra.

More than 1300 U.S. citizens involved in the arts have signed the U.S.-Cuba Cultural Exchange's letter to President Obama seeking full cultural relations with Cuba, abolition of travel restrictions between the our countries, and normalized relationships with our Caribbean neighbor.
