Wisconsin was home to the first major election since the 2024 presidential election. The winner of this election determined which party holds a 4-3 majority in the state supreme court.
State supreme courts have been asked to decide a host of important issues in recent years. The 2023 state supreme court election was the most expensive judicial race in history until this year's supreme court race.
The liberal candidate, Susan Crawford, won the election by a margin of 55% to 45%. Approximately 2.3 million voters took to the polls, significantly more than the 1.8 million who voted in the 2023 supreme court election. Compared to the 2023 race, voter turnout was higher in every single Wisconsin county.
